Is Weebly really shutting down free websites?

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes. In the request form you can tell us whether your domain is already connected, owned but not yet connected, something you would like us to help you buy, or whether you prefer to stay on the free address.

Do you help with domain purchase?

Yes. Tick the option in the request form and we will quote for registration and setup.

How do I connect my own domain to SGWebGo?

Accepted Answer

At your domain registrar (or wherever your DNS is managed), point the root domain and the www record to us: create an A record for @ (the root, e.g. yourbusiness.com.sg) with the value 89.187.28.11, and create a CNAME record for www pointing to your SGWebGo address, yourbusiness.sgwebgo.com. Remove or update any old A or CNAME records for @ and www that still point to Weebly, then tell us the domain and we will finish the setup and issue a free SSL certificate. DNS changes usually take between 15 minutes and a few hours, and up to 48 hours in rare cases. If you are not comfortable editing DNS, send us your registrar login details securely and our Singapore team will do it for you.

Do I get a hosting control panel, FTP or SSH access?

No. SGWebGo is a website building and website management service, not a hosting account — there is no cPanel or hosting panel, no FTP and no SSH access, and no databases or email hosting to manage yourself. We look after hosting, SSL, backups and updates for you, and you edit your website content through the CMS admin login. If you specifically need your own control panel, FTP or SSH access, just write to us at hello@axon.com.sg and we can convert you to a shared hosting plan on our servers in Asia, Europe or the Americas, so you can pick the location with the best latency for your visitors.

Keep My Current Website is SGD 50 a year and Modernise My Website is SGD 80 a year. Both include hosting, SSL, backups and support. Custom work is quoted separately. FREE plans are available for students and charity based organizations.
